SM Thompson provides CNC flame cutting services for customers across the North East and the UK, processing 30mm to 350mm thick mild steel plate for industries including construction, structural steel, offshore, energy, mining and heavy engineering.
Our CNC flame cutting machine has an 18,000mm x 3,000mm bed and is supported by a 30-tonne overhead crane, allowing us to safely process large, heavy steel plates and oversized components.
As established steel stockholders, we carry S355 plate up to 200mm thick, together with S690 high-strength steel, boiler plate, and hardwearing (abrasion resistant) plate & more, helping to reduce lead times on many projects. For material above 200mm and up to 350mm thick, we work with our trusted supply chain to source quality steel quickly and efficiently.
